Music makes life better. It adds this magical layer to the outer world that makes you feel more energized, or maybe a little emotional, depending on your mood. While you’re traveling to your destination (especially on a plane or train), listening to some good music can really enhance your journey. Here are five top songs to brighten your mood while you’re dreaming away, watching the world pass by.

  1. Two Princes – Spin Doctors

What can I say about this song? It’s just one of these evergreens that people will still enjoy fifty years from now. An instant mood raiser! It’s one of my favourite songs of all times and probably will be for a long time to come. Love it. I’m sure you all agree!

  1. Send me on my way – Rusted Root

Most people will know this catchy happy-go-lucky song from the 2002 animation film Ice Age, but even if you don’t connect Send Me On My Way to any movie, it’s still an awesome travel song to put you in the right mood.

  1. Runaway – Bon Jovi

Fantastic song by an amazing band, whose career started in the early eighties, and the four men from New Jersey are still going strong! This song makes it difficult for you to sit still in your seat. But instead of rocking and headbanging, be sure to mind the rest of the passengers in whatever mode of transport you happen to find yourself while listening to Bon Jovi! Save the rock performance for when you’ve reached the privacy of your hotel room.

  1. Love shine a light – Katrina and the Waves

This song has such lovely lyrics that you can’t help but hit the repeat button. Katrina and the Waves won the Eurovision Song Contest in 1997 with Love Shine a Light. They are also the band who created the ultimate happy song ‘Walking on Sunshine’. I remember the whole dance floor would go wild whenever the DJ made the wise decision to play this one.

  1. Magic Carpet Ride – Steppenwolf

I usually don’t like songs with long guitar solos, but this one is an exception! It goes on and on, but in a good way! And the raw voice of John Kay is just too awesome, you simply want to close your eyes and as he sings: ‘let the sound take you away…’
